We are proud to offer both
the Torsen T-2 and Torsen T-2R rear differentials to our customers.
Torsen's TORSEN T-2 and T-2R Traction Differential are ideally suited for
front wheel, center box, or C-Clip rear axle applications. The patented
EQUVEX™ parallel axis gear configuration provides better management of
gear mesh separation forces, resulting in low backlash and quiet
operation. In addition, long side gear lengths permit more flexibility in
axle spline positions.
Unlike conventional speed
sensing, limited-slip differentials, TORSEN T-2 is a full-time
torque-sensing, torque biasing system. Torque and differentiation are
continuously managed between the two axles and biased instantaneously
according to variable road conditions. There are no clutches or preload
to worry about, in fact, the TORSEN T-2's patented parallel gearing system
is designed to perform for the life of the vehicle.
We currently carry the
Torsen T-2 and T-2R for the applications listed below.
Which Torsen is right
for you? If you're car is either street drive or a dual purpose car
(street driven and open track) then the T-2 will work for you. If
you have an IRS equipped Mustang or your car is used exclusively for track
use then the T-2R is right for you. The main difference between the
two types is that the T-2R has a higher bias and is equipped with preload.
This is an excusive feature of the T-2R and is not available in any other
gear type differential.
